Landis+Gyr consolidates to improve Europe, Middle East and African service
The traditional UK prepayment market is moving rapidly towards the adoption of smart metering, driven by the development of new technologies and by the Government’s goal of increasing energy efficiency, while continental Europe has seen a similar growth rate. As a consequence Landis+Gyr has taken the decision to merge its UK and prepayment units with its European business, creating a new division, EMEA.

Landis+Gyr passes 1 million meter mark with ACEA rollout
More than one million households in Rome are already benefiting from Landis+Gyr’s advanced metering system. The utility, Acea Distribuzione in Rome, is already successfully using the system for remote management of more than 1 million residential electricity customers, making this one of the largest AMM deployments in Europe to date. The system is designed to be extended to gas and water meters.

Landis+Gyr wins 10 million Euro smart meter deployment with Finnish Utility
Vaasan Sähköverkko Oy, the Finnish utility, has invested €10 million in a Landis+Gyr system to automatically read, control and manage all 60,000 of its customer metering points. This project is one of the largest ‘smart metering’ - or Advanced Metering Management (AMM) - turnkey implementations ever undertaken in Finland, the country at the forefront of European smart meter deployment. A recent study conducted by VTT, found that approximately one half of Finland’s electricity meters will be read remotely by 2010.

Landis+Gyr wins a large AMM system order in China
Landis+Gyr, solidifying its presence in the largest meter market and its world leading position in advanced metering, has won a significant contract to supply an AMM system for industrial customers of the Shijiazhuang Power Supply Company, owned by Hebei Power Company of the State Grid Corporation in China.

Germany: Dusseldorf makes history with AMM
Stadtwerke Dusseldorf is the first utility in Germany to implement an Advanced Metering Management (AMM) system with the Landis+Gyr in-home display, the ecoMeter. It will do this in order to test the viability of enhanced smart metering systems among its customers.

First AMM solution in the Balkans
Landis+Gyr has implemented an Advanced Meter Management (AMM) system at the Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) utility in Montenegro. The system enables the utility to manage up to 100,000 low voltage customers through 600 data concentrators.

Colorado Springs Utilities and Cellnet+Hunt Reach Metering Project Milestone
